Grover is a sweet and loving kitty that came to Buddy Dog from Animal Control, where he was found abandoned in a carrier with his friend Oscar. Jennifer fell in love with both Oscar and Grover immediately and decided to adopt them both. Oscar and Grover were given their exams by Dr Jack Sinnigen. Oscar passed with flying colors, but when it was Grovers turn, Dr Sinnigen quickly pointed out that Grover may have something going on that needed further investigation. Blood work was sent out that day and the next day he received an x-ray at Sudbury Animal Hospital that showed us exactly what Grover's problem was. Grover had managed to survive (probably for quite some time) with a condition known as a diaphramatic hernia. This not very common condition, means that there was an opening in Grover's diaphram which allowed his intestine to enter into the chest cavity and crowd his heart and lungs, making it difficult for him to breath.

This whole time Grover remained friendly and would purr loudly when ever anyone paid him attention. He even would purr when he was being examined! It was decided that this very friendly kitty deserved a chance to live a normal life with his friend Oscar and his new "Mom" Jennifer. Dr Sinnigen performed the complicated surgery to repair the hernia. In a few days Grover was up and about. Although it took seventeen hundred dollars for Grover's surgery, we at Buddy Dog know that is was money well spent and that Grover is now doing well in his new home and sure to live a long and happy life!

! If you would like to contribute to Grovers veterinary bill, please contact the shelter.
