He would not do well in small homes or apartments; this big boy needs plenty of room to romp around so a fenced-in yard to preferred. He's very food motivated and eager to learn, which is great as he need some extra work on proper leash walking and basic manners. When playtime is done he is happy to snuggle up on the couch with you or chill on the floor with his toys.

Key Notes:

  • 2-year old neutered male.

  • Unknown breed mix.

  • Should not live with cats.

  • No more than 6 hours alone a day; will need a potty and play break.

  • Experience with dogs needed.

  • Medium-high energy; loves lots of playtime but will snuggle when his energy is burnt.

  • Most likely housebroken.

  • Very strong on leash; better with a no-pull harness.

  • Food motivated; knows "sit".

  • Basic obedience training recommended.

Get to know Sugar & Manlet!

This funny duo lived a very loved life before their family had to make the hard decision to find them a new home. In Texas, they lived with 2 senior lady dogs along with a toddler. As their parents' human baby grew, they discovered he had some special health needs that demanded most of their time. The pack wasn't able to get nearly as much love and playtime as they used to, so the family decided it would be for the best for Sugar and Manlet to find new homes where they can be spoiled like to used to. These two love to hang out and play and would love to find a home together, but would be willing to go their separate ways for the right families. Sweet Sugar is as happy and excited as ever, happily bouncing and playing like she has a sugar rush! Stubby little Manlet was pretty confused and scared, but warms up quickly, especially with his pal, Sugar, around to break to ice. They learned housebreaking and "sit" in their previous home, but could use some brushing up on their manners. Sugar especially is a big strong girl pulls strongly on the leash, while Manlet is typically well behaved and happy to sniff and explore. When Sugar gets too excited she lets out big barks! And nervous Manlet may bark to try to scare away strangers. They would do best in a quiet single family home with a fenced yard for Sugar to run in and cannot live in apartments, multi-family homes or busy cities.

Key Notes:

  • Sugar is a 6-year old spayed female.

  • Manlet: Medium-low energy; loves to mingle and follow Sugar while she plays.

Kennedy1

Get to know Horatio & Kennedy!

These two handsome brothers, Horatio and Kennedy, were born in a home in South Carolina and grew up mostly outdoors before being brought to our rescue partner at 2 years old. They're now excited to be looking for their new home, but nerves can get the better of them and they can be shy at first and take some time to warm up. Horatio is shyer than his brother and the most fun loving and silly when he warms up! Kennedy is the least scared, although still very timid, and the most willing to show off his beagle lungs! They would love to go home together, but may go separate for an experienced family with a friendly dog they warm up to. Indoor living is new and scary to them; they prefer to potty outside as what's they have always known but are still figuring out pottying inside is off limits. They have made good progress towards leash walking but they will need lots of guidance and patience from their new family while they adjust to this new way of life. A fully fenced yard with a fence at least 5 feet tall would be best, as they love to run and play and can hop a 4 foot fence! Their smallest brother has been adopted with a doggy pal and has been quickly learning the ropes of indoor living.

Key Notes:

  • Would prefer to go home together, but okay separate with an experienced and patient family with another dog they warm up to.

  • 2-year-old neutered males.

  • Beagle mixes.

  • Horatio is 23 pounds with black on his back.

  • Kennedy is 22 pounds with no black on back or white on nose.

  • Born in a home in South Carolina and surrendered to our rescue partner.

  • Needs an adult only (18+) home.

  • Good with patient, gentle cats; nervous but respectful.

  • Good with patient, gentle dogs; nervous but playful when they've warmed up.

  • No apartments, multi-family homes, or city living.

  • Vocal when excited (beagle bays/barks).

  • Needs a quiet home and neighborhood.

  • Medium energy; loves to play and cuddle when they've warmed up.

  • Almost housebroken.

  • Still learning leash walking; nervous on leash but making great progress!

  • Timid at first; needs time and patience to warm up. Very loving and playful when they do.

  • Basic obedience training recommended.

  • Experience with nervous dogs required.

Get to know Jake!

Jake is a lovable, spunky 7-month-old boy! He's going through the teenage phase, where puppies have lots of energy and like to test boundaries. He needs a dog-experienced adult family to help him grow with firm boundaries and plenty of exercise. Experience with terriers would be a plus! He is so sweet, outgoing, and affectionate that it's hard not to fall in love at first sight. He is housetrained and even knows "sit" and "paw" already! He sometimes has trouble sharing high-value items, like long-lasting chew treats, but he did wonderfully otherwise for his behavioral assessment. He loves playtime with other pups and people alike, but prefers a home as an only pet where his family can give him all their attention. He loves outdoor time - long walks are great and a fenced yard would be a bonus for this bouncing pup. With the right person(s) who is committed to training, exercise, and plenty of adventures he'll make a wonderful companion.

Get to know Magnolia!

Magnolia, also known as "Mags", is a playful and lovable young girl adopted from a rescue in Aruba, but the family could not keep her as they discovered one of their children had allergies. This young girl can be scared of people at first and warms up over time. She is a little shy around some dogs at first but warms up very quickly so long as they aren't pushy. She would like a friendly, patient, and playful dog to live with to show her the ropes and help her adjust to her new life. She does well around cats and loved the older kids in her home, but due to her initial fearfulness, any kids she lives with will need to be dog-savvy and patient with her. At only 6 months old she is still growing, physically and mentally, and needs plenty of guidance from her new family. She was taught to potty on pee-pads in her previous home and needs some extra help learning to potty outside instead. Once the initial excitement of going outside wears off, she walks beautifully on leash and enjoys long walks with lots of sniffing. A fenced-in yard for zoomies would be ideal as she loves to run and play! She is super affectionate with the people she knows; happily snuggling on the couch and showering them in kisses!

  • She was pee-pad trained and is still learning basic housebreaking.

  • Good on a leash but has bursts of energy and may pull a little.

  • Medium-high energy; loves to run and do zoomies and sneak in some snuggles.

Get to know Bella!

Silly and lovable Bella is looking for a quiet home. She is shy at first and needs a little time to warm up, but it won't be long until she's coming in for cuddles and kisses! Her family ended up having to travel too frequently and knew she needed a family to properly spoil her again. She is housebokren and walks well on leash, although she could use some brushing up on her manners. She played with the kitty in her home and lived with kids, although could be timid of their quick movements so would do best with kids 12 and up who know to go slow and be gentle. She is a little insecure about her food but her old family was helping her learn how to share. She loves long walks and fun outdoor activities and will love to crash on the couch for snuggles and naps afterwards!

Key Notes:

  • 5-year-old spayed female.

  • Unknown breed mix.

  • Around 30 pounds.

  • Surrendered due to lack of time.

  • Good with dog-savvy and gentle kids 12 and up.

  • Selective of dog friends; good around them.

  • Playful with cats.

  • No more than 8 hours alone a day; will need a potty and play break for longer.

  • Medium energy; loves playtime and cuddle time.

  • Housebroken.

  • Walks well on leash.

  • Experience with dogs recommended.

  • Basic obedience training recommended.

  • Prefers a quiet home and neighborhood.
