Diamonds in the Ruff
Finding loving homes for our overlooked dogs and cats
Frankie is such a fun and spunky cat! He came to us late May of 2019 from a rescue in Alabama, like many other kitties as there is a large stray cat population there. He came with no history so we know nothing about his past. As time has passed, we have not only come to know him, we have also grown to love him. Frankie doesn't make it easy to fall in love, as he is full of "cattitude" and sass; however, as he gets to know you and trust you, the bond begins.
Frankie loves to play! He adores any toy he comes across. He also loves to watch the birds outside the window and pretend to hunt them. In fact, when he is out on our screened in porch, he has been known to catch a creature or two that unfortunately entered the catio! He is an active kitty and needs plenty of play time.
The fact that Frankie needs to be an only pet has been a limiting factor with potential adopters. He's quite sassy with other kitties and boldly states his dislike of dogs. He also wouldn't do well with living with children. Visiting young ones would likely be fine so long as they are supervised and give him his space.
Frankie is the type of cat who needs to get to know you before he will trust you. He shows his distrust of new people by swatting at them. He's not mean or aggressive, but he's very clear about when he wants to be touched. For staff and volunteers who have spent a lot of time with him, his affectionate, loyal side shines through. We really think that part of Frankie's behavioral situation is that he is surrounded by things that bother him: cats, dogs, and strangers. We truly believe that in the right home, he will be a super fun, entertaining companion!
Frankie is 1 year old, neutered, and up to date on vaccines.

The ideal home described below is based on the knowledge of Buddy Dog’s staff. This list reflects what Buddy Dog staff and believe will be necessary for Frankie to succeed and be happy in an adoptive home.
Frankie must be strictly indoor-only.
Teens and up in his home.
No other cats or dogs in the home.
Ability to confine him to one room or area while he settles in (having access to the entire house immediately will be overwhelming and potentially dangerous if he hides in precarious spots or out of sight of his family).
Comfortable with his bold and bossy nature.
Yearly check-ups at the vet.
