Due to COVID-19, our volunteer program is temporarily on hold, and we are not accepting additions to our waitlist at this time.
Volunteers are a very important part of the Buddy Dog Humane Society. Our volunteers are a diverse group. They include professionals, homemakers, and students. If you are at least 15 years of age — we need you! Unfortunately for safety reasons, children under 15 can not volunteer at the shelter, but they can still make a difference.
Volunteering can be a very rewarding experience. Volunteers support and enhance the care and services provided by our staff. All new volunteers attend an orientation and training with ongoing support from our staff and experienced volunteers. While we do ask for a minimum 4-month commitment, we are flexible to meet your scheduling requirements.
Volunteer work is varied. Some tasks may seem menial but all are necessary for the well being of the pets. We make every effort to match your interests with the needs at the shelter. A list of specific volunteer opportunities is available at the shelter.
For more information, please contact the Director of Volunteer Services, Donna DeWallace or Volunteer Coordinator Michel Gross at
